During my internship at the Center for Public Affairs and Research I was asked to lay out and design the Vocational and Life Skills Evaluation annual report. The guidelines were to stay within University of Nebraska Omaha brand guidelines in terms of color and typography, but for everything else I was able to do my own design and layout.
I was provided the images and text and had to lay it all out in a way that was legible and directed the eye. I was also given the statistics but had to design the charts that displayed them. I designed both the front and back covers as well as the design elements on the headers and page numbers.
I decided to then expand upon this project and create posters for a conference event that would showcase the information being presented, as well as badges for the event and social media posts to promote the event.

For this event poster I decided to implement the design elements found on the front and back covers of the report to create consistency. I utilized the same color palette but made the background gray to give the poster a distinction from the report cover. I also created uniformity between the report and the poster by having the layout be similar, with the major design element of the photo and circles being at the top, as well as consistent typography. The poster advertises what the event is, where it is at, when it is at, and three guest speakers that will attend, along with images and job titles for each speaker.
Here I created an example for name badges that one could wear at the event. To create consistency, I incorporated the circle elements, color palette, and typography found on the report and poster. Each badge would show the attendees name, job title, phone number, and email address, as well as the conference name.
